Neni Berlin & Monkey Bar: Rooftop Gastronomy

Monkey Bar, 25 Hours Hotel Bikini Berlin

Located on the top floor of 25 Hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, Restaurant Neni Berlin and The Monkey Bar are popular destinations for dining and partying amongst Berliners and tourists alike. With eclectic international cuisine on offer and panoramic views of Berlin to swoon at, a meal here is bound to impress.

The Monkey Bar

Monkey Bar Berlin review

We visited The Monkey Bar during our stay at 25 Hours Hotel Bikini Berlin and found it packed to capacity in the evening. The music, lights, and the terrace views – it would be enough to intoxicate anyone, even if they weren’t sipping on potent cocktails and German liqueur.

But for the purpose of photography, we returned in the morning, and the freshness of the bar’s decor, as also the views of the forested Berlin Zoo from the inside, took our breath away. The bar is called so as it directly overlooks the ape enclosure! Chic elements like am umbrella composed of photographs, multi-coloured cushions, and potted plants give it character.

Neni Berlin

Neni Berlin review

Neni Berlin specialises in Arabic, Turkish, Israeli, Persian, and Moroccan cuisines. But they also have a selection of German, Austrian and Spanish delicacies on the menu. The restaurant is huge, and depending on where you sit, you can enjoy a view of the city or the sprawling Tiergarten. The terrace seating is wonderful, allowing you to enjoy the breeze while you dine.

Israeli restaurateur Haya Molcho is behind the Neni restaurant chain, also available in Cologne, Zurich, Munich, Hamburg, and Wien. Having lived in various countries, her food and presentation reflects culinary traditions from India, China, and Morocco. Don’t expect shallow sophistication – Neni Berlin believes in serving you food in the dishes they were cooked in!

The Breakfast Buffet

Breakfast buffet at Neni Berlin

We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast buffet during our stay at 25 Hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, and it was one of the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly prepared omelettes, fluffy scrambled eggs, vegan banana cake, vanilla quark and yogurt, a variety of nuts and seeds, fresh fruits, croissants and other breads, meats, and cheeses were on offer.

Along with the usual juices, there was an interesting mango buttermilk that tasted absolutely delicious. Tea lovers were spoilt for choice with special tea makers that let you scoop lots of Samova tea leaves into the container and brew an entire pot of tea to be enjoyed with breakfast.

Eat: Eggs of choice, croissants and honeycomb, meat, cheese, fruits
Drink: Samova tea, fresh coffee, juices
Hours: 7 to 11 AM, all days of the week
