Miss Jenny’s Homestay
A lovely Portuguese bungalow with its own garden and dog – Miss Jenny’s Homestay introduces you to a Goa you’d rarely experience in a busy hotel. Vibrant curtains and table cloths coupled with antique furniture dating back to Goa’s colonial past endow the house with inimitable character. Away from the touristy beaches, this North Goan village will amaze you with its untamed greenery, grand old Portuguese houses, and picturesque churches and Hindu temples.
Hardika and Anirudh will advise you on hidden gems like a quaint museum behind Miss Jenny’s Homestay, and a pub that locals love to frequent. Photography enthusiasts and birdwatchers will appreciate the exotic avian species in Saligao, including kingfishers, drongos, and bulbuls. And you won’t go hungry either – there are numerous little eateries serving fresh and irresistible Goan fare like Pork Vindaloo and Chicken Cafreal.
The Contest
Now that we have you checking your calendar, let’s get into what is up for grabs here. We’re giving away a 2-nights stay for two people at the charming Miss Jenny’s Homestay. That means you can take a friend along, and savour the magic of Goa together. The stay can be redeemed any time until December 31, 2018. And as we all know, winter is the best time to visit Goa. The weather is cool and breezy, there are parties within driving/riding distance of the homestay, and Goa is green and lush in the aftermath of the monsoon.
The prize is inclusive of daily breakfast in the beautiful garden of the house. The breakfast is a melange of Indian and continental delicacies, and typically comprises of eggs and toast, tea or coffee, fresh fruits, and an Indian preparation like dosa, upma, or puri bhaji. Rooms in the upper level come with their own balconies. The ground floor room does not, but then, it has direct access to the courtyard.
